INSTRUCTIONS & CARE

You have a knife made of high-quality carbon steel, which is significantly more durable and resistant compared to conventional stainless steel knives. The blade is particularly characterized by its hardness, wear resistance and toughness. It is sharp and easy to sharpen, making it ideal for everyday use. To ensure the maximum performance and lifespan of your knife, it is important that you care for it properly.

Caring for a knife is relatively simple, but it does require a few important steps. Follow our included instructions to make sure you do everything correctly. We have included a care set that contains a bottle of Falki care oil and a cleaning cloth. These two components are important tools for keeping your knife in optimal condition.

The first step in caring for your knife is to clean it thoroughly after each use. Use warm water and a soft brush to remove dirt, food particles, and debris. Make sure you rinse the knife completely to remove any residue. Then dry it thoroughly with the cleaning cloth provided or a soft cloth. This prevents moisture from remaining on the blade and causing corrosion.

After cleaning, it is important to treat the blade with care oil. Oils like our Falki care oil form a protective layer on the blade and prevent corrosion. Apply a thin layer of oil to the blade and rub it evenly with the cleaning cloth or another soft cloth. Make sure that you also apply a portion of care oil to the handle of your knife to protect it and increase its durability. Oiling your knife regularly is crucial to keeping it in optimal condition.

In addition to regular cleaning and oiling, you should also make sure to store your knife properly. Avoid leaving the knife somewhere wet, especially if it will not be used for a long time. Moisture can cause uncoated blades to oxidize. Make sure the knife is completely dry before storing it in a drawer, knife block, or knife bag. If you transport the knife in a knife bag, make sure that it is sufficiently ventilated to avoid moisture accumulation.

The sharpness of your blade generally lasts longer than traditional stainless steel knives. However, over time it may be necessary to sharpen the blade. If the blade becomes dull, it is best to do this with a sharpening stone. If you are unsure or need additional support, please feel free to contact us. We offer a special service where we can professionally prepare your blade, handle and sharpness of your knife.

It is important to note that coated blades require slightly different care. The coating on the blade protects the tool steel from direct contact with moisture and thus prevents corrosion. However, you should also make sure to clean the knife thoroughly after each use and dry it well. Avoid damaging the coating with harsh or abrasive cleaners.

By using our included care kit and following our instructions, you will enjoy your knife for a long time. We guarantee that it will last a lifetime and will faithfully support you in your daily tasks and culinary adventures. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT OUR KNIVES AND THEIR COATINGS

Our knives have special coatings that are burned into the blade to ensure their durability and functionality. To ensure that these coatings last for a long time, it is important to follow certain care instructions.

Please avoid working with our coated knives using corrosive or acidic substances. Such substances can damage the coating and impair the performance of the knife.

It is also advisable not to leave coated blades wet. In some cases, water can get under the coating and cause permanent damage to the blade. Make sure to dry your knives thoroughly after use and store them in a dry place.

It is especially important to keep the coated knives away from hard objects such as bones or other hard material. Applying too much pressure could damage the coating, especially if water accumulates in the coating layers.

If there are any problems with the coating, do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to help and find a solution for you.
